How to relocate plants when you're moving home
- 09 March 2012
Most of us love to have plants around our homes. They help create a more pleasant and healthy environment. After years of TLC, you’ll probably wish to take your beloved indoor and favourite outdoor plants with you when you move.
Here are some tips on how to move your plants successfully:
1–2 weeks before moving day
- If you are using a removals company, check that they’ll move plants. Some, for insurance reasons, may not accept them, particularly over long distances. Plants are perishable, living things that need air, light and comfortable temperatures – so the risk of loss or damage to them is pretty high. If your removal company won’t transport them, you’ll need to make arrangements to move them yourself.

The Government emphasises that the UK will maintain its high level of protection against animal diseases after the changes, which, it says, have the potential to save pet owners around £7m in fees.
